This service is only for persons with spinal cord injury. It does not cover persons who have conventional lower back problems.
Persons who have a spinal cord injury are those who have spinal cord impairment.
Spinal Cord Impairment may be due to any cause, including, but not limited to, traumatic injury, infection, congenital causes, tumors, or any other disease condition.
Traumatic causes could be road / train accidents, fall from heights, bullet wounds, construction / factory site accidents, defective surgical processes and sports injuries, to name a few.
Non-traumatic causes include congenital defects, Spina Bifida, TB of spine, brain fever, Transverse Myelitis, other diseases and any other condition that leads to effects similar to paraplegia and tetraplegia (also referred as quadriplegia).
At times, if The Spinal Foundation volunteer is unable to take your call for any reason, please be assured of a callback within 24 hours.
If there are language constraints, the volunteer will take your name and number and ensure that you are called by a person who is fluent in the specific language.
If it is an emergency, you could also send an SMS to 0 97909 36844.
Your suggestions, feedback and criticisms are always welcome, as that is the only way the service would improve as we go along.
