The Spinal Foundation is an India Self-Help Group for Persons with Spinal cord Injury. We have recorded instances of Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) for more than 60 years now.

The Spinal Foundation is set up as an endeavour to make a concerted effort to push for improved quality of life (QOL) of PwSCIs at the national level. There are several organizations / individuals in India working in the spinal cord injury space; while some impart holistic rehabilitation, others cater in some ways to empower PwSCIs and live a life of good health and dignity. The Spinal Foundation acknowledges their efforts and seeks to work as an umbrella organization taking along all of them as partners.

We deeply mourn the loss of our beloved co-founder, S Vaidyanathan (Vaidy). A visionary, great leader, excellent peer, true friend and an extraordinary human being. Single-handedly, he has changed and positively enabled the lives of thousands of persons with spinal cord injury. Always shy of taking credit, Vaidy has lived a selfless, minimalist life, putting the interests of peers with spinal cord injury first.
