EN During massive earthquake2001, which was devastating condition for the people of Kutch .Many people have lost their lives, family members, livelihood, homes. The people who survived from earthquake were severely affected. Some of them lost their limbs, some of them suffered from spinal cord injuries which led to paraplegia and different type of disabilities.
In 2001, for the betterment of earthquake victim who were having spinal cord injury, Shree Bidada Sarvodaya Trust organized the ‘’Largest Caretaker Camp’’ in which the caretaker were guided to take proper care of paraplegics. This camp was recorded in the Limca book of records for arranging this camp for around 80 patients and of age group between 3yr-65 yr.( Limca Book Of Records-2003,Page No:40)
Due to rapid urbanization and industrialization which lead to increase in road traffic accident and no. of patients also increased simultaneously, so there was a necessity to develop a permanent rehabitation center. With the wide vision of  Mr. Mukesh Doshi and Dr. Virendra Shandilya, Bidada Sarvoday trust took the initiative to start Jaya Rehabilitation Institute and Research Center in 2004.
For proper rehabilitation of patient it was imperative to provide accommodation to SCI patients. Jaya rehabilitation has bed capacity of 20-48 patients and caretaker as well.
In 2011, ADL unit and functional rehabilitation department was developed to train the SCI patients to be independent in their activity of daily living.
 After rehabilitation, SCI patients were finding difficulty to use public transportation, to make them sensitize and gain confidence to use hindrance free transportation, public utility center has been started in 2018.
Moreover, for the welfare of mankind our director Mr. Mukesh Doshi and Assistant Director Dr. Virendra Shandilya decided to start cardio respiratory rehabilitation unit which helped the patient to recover faster. This department is now also useful for Post COVID Rehabilitation.
In 2011, Mr. Mukesh Doshi has received best individual award for the empowerment of person with disability.
In 2012, SHREE BIDADA SARVODAYA TRUST received BEST INSTITUTE AWARD forâ€Empowerment of person with disability’’.
We organize various sports activity like Volleyball play, Wheelchair Racing, Cultural Events. (You can view the Volley ball Play with Wheelchair on our YouTube channel)
We have celebrated District level Competition Program for Disabled in 2019.
Till date we are Providing Free of Cost Treatment to Earthquake Victims (2001 Earthquake Victims).
