Sevabharathi

Sevabharathi® Kanyadi was conceptualized and started its community activities in the year 2004 and later registered in the year 2012 under the Trust Act. Sevabharathi was founded with the avowed objective of extending social service to the deserved and marginalized segment of the population of Belthangady Taluk, a remote taluk in Dakshina Kannada District of Karnataka State. “Sevabharathi” is actively engaged in social work and community services during the last 16 years in the field of health, education, and empowerment of rural women by self-employment and rehabilitation of persons affected with spinal cord injury.

Shri K Vinayaka Rao met with electrical shock which resulted in spinal cord injury. When he realized there is no possibility for him to walk again he was depressed then he decides to commit suicide but he was motivated by one of his well-wisher saying that “You don’t think about yourself think about others who are leading life with difficulties help them support them find happiness in serving others” all these made him to serve for the society. Latter he went to CMC Vellor to get himself updated through Rehabilitation. This rehabilitation resulted in the positive change within him then he dreams towards setting up of Rehabilitation centre in his locality to serve People with Spinal Cord Injury (PwSCI) in Karnataka state.
