A spinal cord injury could seriously affect functions of the hand, fingers, legs, bladder and bowel, mobility and the ability to have sex and pro-create. Yet, a quality life is possible with proper rehabilitation. Running For Ability is an initiative that showcases this prospect.
The Running For Ability team revolves around spinal cord injured persons participating from the wheelchair and on tricycles.
The support cast is a group of doctors, physiotherapists and occupational therapists who play a major role in the rehabilitation of SCI persons. They are taking time out and putting in massive effort amid a tight work schedule to support the cause.

At The Chennai Marathon in 2014, we expect about 20 SCI persons to do distances ranging from 10 km to the full Marathon (42.195 km) without any assistance.
